Personalize Your Practice with Customizations, Upgrades & Assists

Create Community. Learn About Yoga. Discover Your Voice.

Find your voice. Deepen your practice. Discover what’s possible.

Maybe you've been practicing yoga for years.

Maybe you find yourself thinking about yoga long after you leave class.

Maybe you've started wondering what it would feel like to understand the practice on a deeper level—or even share it with others.

Or maybe you simply feel a little pull toward something more.

That's where teacher training begins.

Not with having all the answers. With curiosity. With a willingness to learn. And with a desire to go deeper.

At Mello Yoga, we believe yoga is so much more than what happens on a mat. It's a way of coming home to yourself, connecting with others, and learning to move through life with a little more awareness, compassion, and courage.

Our 200-Hour Teacher Training is an invitation to explore all of that—and to discover your own path along the way.

COME AS YOU ARE. LEAVE WITH MORE OF YOURSELF.

Mello Yoga was created to be a place where people feel welcome, connected, and comfortable being exactly who they are. That's the feeling we want to bring into teacher training. This isn't about becoming the "perfect" yoga teacher. It's about becoming present, knowledgeable, compassionate, and authentic in your practice with confidence to share yoga with others — even if just friends and family members.

Over 10 weeks, you'll immerse yourself in the practice and study of yoga while learning alongside a close community of people who are on their own unique journeys.

You'll practice. You'll teach. You'll ask questions. You'll probably laugh a lot. You'll be challenged. And you'll have moments when something suddenly clicks. Those are the moments we live for.

THIS TRAINING IS FOR YOU IF...

  • You want to become a yoga teacher.

  • You want to deepen your personal practice.

  • You feel called to explore yoga beyond the physical practice.

  • You're looking for a community of like-minded people.

  • You're ready to challenge yourself and grow.

  • You're curious about what might be possible if you said yes to yourself.

And you don't have to know exactly where this journey will take you. You just have to be willing to begin.

WHAT MAKES MELLO DIFFERENT?

We don't just teach you how to teach yoga.

We teach you how to connect.

Connect with your students. Connect with your breath. Connect with your body. Connect with the reason you came to yoga in the first place.

At Mello Yoga, you'll learn the technical side of teaching—alignment, anatomy, sequencing, cueing, assists, philosophy, pranayama, meditation and practice customizations.

But we'll also spend a lot of time on the things that can't simply be learned from a textbook.

  • How do you hold space for someone?

  • How do you make a nervous beginner feel comfortable?

  • How do you walk into a room and teach from your own authentic voice?

  • How do you create a class that people carry with them after they leave?

These are the things that make a good yoga teacher a great one.

WHAT WE'LL EXPLORE TOGETHER

ASANA & ALIGNMENT

Learn the foundations of yoga postures, alignment, customizations/modifications, and safe, intelligent movement.

VINYASA

Explore the art of linking breath and movement, creating thoughtful sequences, and building classes that feel purposeful rather than simply choreographed.

Yin & Gentle Flow Blueprints

Not everyone is in the mood for vinyasa all the time, and we believe that a well-balanced yoga practice has elements of restoration and surrender as much as the more popular style of vinyasa movement. We have designed this training to incorporate Vinyasa, Yin & Meditation, and Gentle Flow into the curriculum so that this is not just a training for the vinyasa yogis, but for every style and you will learn across many genres.

THE ART OF TEACHING

Learn how to use your voice, offer clear cues, demonstrate effectively, observe your students, and confidently guide a room.

ANATOMY

Build a practical understanding of the body, movement, alignment, common limitations, and how to create a practice that respects individual bodies.

YOGA PHILOSOPHY

Go beyond the physical practice and explore the history, philosophy, Sutras, and teachings of yoga—and how they can actually relate to your everyday life.

PRANAYAMA & MEDITATION

Learn traditional breathing and meditation practices and experience how they can support a deeper sense of awareness and connection.

HANDS-ON ASSISTS

Learn thoughtful, appropriate hands-on assists and how to approach touch with awareness, consent, and respect.

ACCESSIBILITY & MODIFICATIONS

Learn how to meet students where they are and offer modifications that allow more people to experience the benefits of yoga.

THE SUBTLE BODY

Explore the energetic dimensions of yoga, including chakras and other subtle-body concepts.

THEMING & SEQUENCING

Discover how to weave intention, philosophy, breath, movement, and creativity into a class that feels cohesive and meaningful.

SANSKRIT

Become familiar with foundational Sanskrit terminology used throughout the practice.

AND THEN...

YOU'LL TEACH.

One of the most important parts of Mello Teacher Training is actually getting up and teaching. Not just at the end.

Throughout your training, you'll have opportunities to practice teaching, receive feedback, make mistakes, try again, and grow.

Because confidence doesn't come from waiting until you're ready. It comes from doing.

You'll learn how to walk into a room, take a breath, look around, and say: "I've got this."

YOUR MELLO TEACHER TRAINING COMMUNITY

One of the most beautiful parts of teacher training is the people you meet along the way.

You'll spend meaningful time practicing, learning, laughing, sharing, and growing together.

You'll cheer each other on.

You'll practice teaching to one another.

You'll celebrate the breakthroughs.

And you'll probably make friendships that continue long after the training ends.

Because when you go through something transformative together, you become part of each other's story.

And that's very Mello.

YOU'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT IT.

MAYBE THIS IS YOUR TIME.

You don't have to know exactly where yoga will take you. You don't have to have your next five years figured out. You just have to be willing to take the next step. Come deepen your practice. Come learn. Come be challenged. Come meet your people. Come discover what happens when you give yourself permission to go deeper.

LEARN FROM TEACHERS WHO ACTUALLY TEACH

Meet your Teacher Training Team

Tracy Moore, 500 RYT, 200 E-RYT, YACEP

Meesha, E-RYT-200, Assistant Manager

Lisa mello, E-RYT-200, Studio Owner & Manager

Tracy started her yoga practice over 15 years ago after a move to San Diego from the Midwest. New to the city, yoga provided a much-needed space to connect to a community. She found her passion for vinyasa style yoga and breath-to-movement flow style classes. She noticed after yoga, she felt more calm and less anxious. As her yoga journey continued, she came to love many styles of yoga that she blends into her classes. She is certified in Power yoga, Yin yoga, Gentle Flow & Restorative yoga.

She completed her 200-hour teacher training at CorePower Yoga in 2018 and her 300-hour advanced teaching training at Soul of Yoga to become a 500 RYT in 2023. She loves to teach and share her passion for yoga. Her teaching goals are to offer her students a welcoming space to explore their yoga practice and find confidence in their own practice. She loves to infuse yoga philosophy into her classes and teach ways for students to bring their practice off their mats and into their own lives.

Meesha is 200-hour certified with extra certifications in hot yoga, and yin yoga and studies other styles passionately. She has been a teacher training facilitator in 25 CPY TT programs and has taught at international meditation destinations like Rancho Valencia (CA) and Rancho La Puerta in Tecate, MX.

In Meesha’s classes, you will get a layer-based, grounding foundation in alignment and anatomical cues, juxtaposed alongside unexpected sequencing to promote presence and body awareness in creative mandalas and evolutionary flows. She teaches a blend of restorative, yin, hatha, and vinyasa styles predominantly, but has also studied the healing style of viniyoga (therapeutic style) as a side passion for years. As an English master, Michelle infuses her classes with poetic use of imagery exemplifying the yogic philosophical tenets while teaching not only how to do the postures, but how to connect deeply to your body, mind, and heart.

Lisa is a radiant being and a beautiful soul who strives to incorporate the perfect balance between strength and surrender in each of her classes. The mother of two and founder of Mello Yoga believes that yoga can be for everybody and every body. Her Master’s in Education and background as a teacher give her a natural grace and intuitive approach to guiding your practice. Lisa is dedicated to providing an enriching experience that leaves you recharged and re-energized.

Lisa is passionate about not only training teachers to excel at leading classes themselves but also specializing in kids’ yoga. Her inspiration to open Mello Yoga was born out of creating an all-inclusive community that also serves special populations like our local teens, kids, and athletes. She is always open to collaborating with other small business owners and is currently excited to work with our local soccer community.

A NOTE FROM LISA Mello, Studio Owner

"I created Mello because I wanted yoga to feel different."

I wanted a place where you could walk through the door and exhale. Where you didn't have to be the most flexible person in the room. Where you could laugh. Where you could be challenged without being judged.Where yoga could be both powerful and approachable. That's the feeling I want you to experience during teacher training, too.You don't have to come into this already knowing what kind of teacher you're going to be.

We'll figure some of that out together.

My hope is that you leave not trying to become someone else's version of a yoga teacher, but feeling confident enough to become your own. Because the world doesn't need more people teaching yoga the exact same way.It needs you.
